Introduction: Abdominal epilepsy is a rare syndrome characterized by paroxysmal and recurrent episodes of abdominal pain, with or without alteration of the state of consciousness, abnormal electroencephalogram and improvement with anti-seizure management. Case presentation: A 49-year-old woman presented clonic and rhythmic jerks of the abdominal muscles, associated with pain. A video electroencephalogram study documented right frontotemporal epileptic activity and was managed with levetiracetam and sodium valproate. Conclusions: It is a rare, highly complex disease. Diagnosis is by exclusion, confirmed by electroencephalogram and response to anti-crisis medications.

Nursing Care Plan in a case of paranoid schizophrenia and female transsexuality
https://revistasdigitales.uniboyaca.edu.co/index.php/rs/article/view/1345

Introduction: Schizophrenia is a serious mental illness that affects the way a person thinks, feels and behaves. Cases of transgender people diagnosed with schizophrenia are rare. Objective: Describe the case of a transgender person diagnosed with schizophrenia and propose a Nursing Care Process. Case presentation: This is a person of male sex and female gender identity or male-to-female transgender, 29 years of age. With identifying name of B.G.S. Diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia since he was 13 years old. The NANDA© taxonomy was used to formulate nursing diagnoses, establishing, in turn, a classification of NOC objectives or results, along with NIC nursing interventions. Conclusion: With these interventions, we contributed, to a large extent, to improving the state of well-being and empowerment in the management of demands for the patient's sexual health rights. This case report contributes to the scientific literature a better understanding of specific care needs: Transgender people already face mental health challenges due to discrimination, stigmatization and lack of adequate access to health services. If a diagnosis of schizophrenia is added to this, the care needs multiply. It is crucial that nursing professionals know how to address both aspects effectively and without prejudice.

Workload and Work Stress in General Services Workers of a Colombian University
https://revistasdigitales.uniboyaca.edu.co/index.php/rs/article/view/1281

Introduction: General service workers in universities play a crucial role in the maintenance and operation of university facilities. However, they face long hours, high physical and emotional demands, and sometimes lack of recognition. These factors can generate an excessive workload and, consequently, increase work stress. Objective: Analyze the correlation between workload and work stress in general service workers belonging to a higher education institution in Colombia. Methodology: Quantitative, non-experimental and cross-sectional correlational study. The questionnaire for Stress Assessment (third version) and the NASA TLX (NASA Task Load Index, index to measure workload) were applied, both validated in Colombia. The study was guided by the STROBE method (strengthening the Reporting of Observational Studies in Epidemiology.) and statistics were analyzed in IBM SPSS v25 (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences). Results: It was possible to analyze the correlation between workload and work stress. in general service workers. Although most workers reported low levels of stress, it is crucial not to underestimate its impact on performance and health. Meanwhile, the workload significantly affects 77.6% of the surveyed population, requiring measures to reduce it. Conclusions: It is essential not to underestimate the impact of work stress, even at low levels, on work performance and the mental and physical health of employees, while the workload faces high levels, so measures must be implemented to reduce them.

Factors associated with healthy lifestyles in caregivers of people with disabilities
https://revistasdigitales.uniboyaca.edu.co/index.php/rs/article/view/1396

Introduction: Lifestyles are behavioral patterns that people adopt in their daily lives. It has currently become a challenge for health professionals to understand the impact that daily habits generate on people's health; especially for informal caregivers who are dedicated to caring for people with disabilities. Objectives: Objectives: To identify factors associated with lifestyles in caregivers of people with disabilities in the Pamplona region, Norte de Santander (Colombia). Materials and methods: Descriptive, cross-sectional, and correlational. The sample was selected through non-probability sampling, determined by convenience, and consisted of 308 informal caregivers of people with disabilities, belonging to the municipalities of the Pamplona region, Norte de Santander, Colombia. The Nola Pender Healthy Lifestyle Scale HPLP-II was used. Results: All caregivers were classified as "Never" (12.66%) and "Sometimes" (87.33%) and adopt healthy lifestyles. Furthermore, a significant association was found between sex, education, marital status, and life course or life cycle with four of the six dimensions evaluated; additionally, significance was found among the dimensions, except for the nutrition and physical activity dimensions. Conclusions: The results of this study demonstrate that informal caregivers of people with disabilities lead unhealthy lifestyles. Factors associated with sociodemographic characteristics and the dimensions evaluated presented statistically significant results, findings that are important to consider for future quasi-experimental research.
